Justus Reintjes — Germany U16 Leader and Top MVP Candidate in the Jr. Basketball League

A new name is rapidly gaining attention in German youth basketball — Justus Reintjes.

Born in 2010, Reintjes is already one of the key players for Germany’s U16 national team and a leader within the ratiopharm Ulm system (Radiopharm Academy Ulm).

Competing in the Jr. Basketball League — Germany’s premier youth basketball competition — Reintjes has established himself as one of the standout players in his age group and a central figure on his U16 team.

His scoring ability is particularly impressive. In one game in Germany, Justus recorded an outstanding 68-point performance, underlining his reputation as one of the most dangerous offensive players of his generation.

Throughout the season, he has consistently delivered:

    • 30+ and 40+ point games
    • strong overall impact on the game
    • leadership on the court

Thanks to these performances, Justus Reintjes is currently considered the leading candidate for the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award in the Jr. Basketball League.

Many coaches and observers are already beginning to draw comparisons between his playing style and Dirk Nowitzki — pointing to similarities in scoring versatility, confidence, and offensive mindset.

Adding to the story, Reintjes comes from the same basketball environment that produced Nowitzki, and continues to develop within a system where the influence of the German legend is still present. According to sources around the program, Justus has also had opportunities to connect with Nowitzki, gaining valuable exposure within that elite basketball ecosystem.

At the national level, he plays an important role for Germany’s U16 team, further solidifying his status as one of the top prospects in his class.

    His game is defined by:

    • aggressive scoring ability
    • confidence with the ball
    • advanced basketball IQ

Today, Reintjes is not just a promising prospect — he is already one of the leading young talents in German basketball.

Riga Juniors MVP Rihards Ivanovs Receives Offer from Top U.S. College Basketball Program Led by Five-Time Coach of the Year Donnie Tyndall

Rihards Ivanovs, MVP of the Riga Juniors Team, has officially received an offer from a top U.S. college basketball program, led by five-time Coach of the Year in junior college basketball, Donnie Tyndall. This milestone marks a major breakthrough for Rihards Ivanovs personally and highlights the rising influence of European talent in American college basketball.

    Development Under Elite Coaching

Rihards Ivanovs’ growth has been guided by Coach Gundars Vētra, former NBA player (Minnesota Timberwolves), whose experience at the highest level has been crucial in developing the player’s basketball IQ, discipline, and competitive mindset.

Equally important in his development journey has been Coach Boris Karebin, a basketball coach with extensive experience in player development and international training, who, at the time, played a key role assisting then–General Manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jack McCloskey, in the signing of Gundars Vētra.
His insights and collaboration with other coaches helped position Rihards Ivanovs on the radar of elite NCAA coaching staff.

Another key figure is Coach Nathan Altenhofen, whose long-time experience in U.S. and international programs further strengthened Rihards Ivanovs’ path toward high-level competition.

It was this coaching alliance that successfully drew the attention of Donnie Tyndall, one of the most respected names in junior college basketball and a former NBA assistant coach. He recognized the potential of Rihards Ivanovs and showed strong interest in the young Latvian talent.

A Major Step for Latvian Basketball

This achievement represents an important moment for Latvian basketball development. It demonstrates that a well-structured system — combining European fundamentals with exposure to U.S. college basketball — can open real opportunities at the highest levels.

How One Call to Coach Boris Karebin Can Change Your Basketball Life: From Setback to Number 2 College in the USA — Elina Syniakova

Elina Syniakova, a promising center from Ukraine, has rewritten her basketball story through resilience and the right opportunity. Currently playing at Butler Community College in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, Syniakova has become an important contributor to a nationally ranked team — a stark contrast to where her journey began.

Syniakova started her American career at Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters basketball, but her first experience in Division I did not go as planned. Struggling to find her role and fit within that program, she made a tough decision to pursue a different path that would better support her growth as a player.

That decision led her to reach out to Boris Karebin, a coach and mentor who believed in her potential. Through Coach Karebin and the BK-CentR Player Development program, Syniakova was connected with Butler Community College, where she found a fresh opportunity to develop her game and reestablish her confidence on the court.

Since joining Butler, Syniakova has helped her team achieve a No. 2 national ranking in junior college basketball, showcasing her ability to contribute in a competitive environment and play a meaningful role in a successful roster.

But Syniakova’s basketball experience isn’t limited to colleges in the United States — she has also represented Ukraine at major international youth tournaments. Standing 6’2″ (188 cm), she has consistently been a key player for Ukrainian youth national teams:

    • At the FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket Division B, she averaged 12.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, ranking among her team’s leaders in both categories.
    • At the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket Division B, she posted strong numbers with 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game against some of Europe’s emerging talents.
    • In earlier youth competition, she showed high efficiency and impact on both ends of the court for Ukraine in European championships.

These international performances highlight Syniakova’s versatility, physical presence, and developing skill set — qualities that have translated well to the American game.

As she continues her journey with Butler and attracts attention for her all-around play, Syniakova has set her sights on the next level of collegiate competition. Her goal now is to earn a spot with a strong NCAA Division I women’s program where she can continue to grow and challenge herself against high-level competition.

While a professional career in the Women’s National Basketball Association might not be her primary path, Syniakova has real potential to succeed professionally in Europe after her college career — especially if she continues to elevate her game and seize the right opportunities.

Her story is a powerful example of how one pivotal decision — and one call to the right coach — can truly change a basketball life. 🏀

Now competing in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), Kapinos is completing his second season at the junior college level and continues to demonstrate strong development as a player.

Throughout the season, Kapinos has established himself as one of the most productive and reliable players on his team. He averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 56% from the field. His consistent performance earned him All-Region Second Team honors, recognizing him among the top players in the conference.

As the postseason began, Kapinos elevated his level of play even further. His team won several key games during the conference tournament and successfully advanced through multiple rounds of the playoffs, winning the Sweet 16 round of the NWAC tournament and reaching the conference semifinals.

His goal is clear: to impress Division I coaches and earn a roster opportunity at the highest level of college basketball.

In addition to his progress on the court, Kapinos is also a strong student academically, which keeps multiple collegiate opportunities open. With two full years of NCAA eligibility remaining, he still has valuable time to continue developing and proving himself.
