South Georgia Technical College has released its official schedule for the 2026–27 men’s basketball season.
Two Latvian players are part of the South Georgia Tech College men’s team for the upcoming season.
Ralfs Iesalnieks returns for his second season with South Georgia Tech. The sophomore guard is from Līvāni, Latvia, and was already part of the team during the previous season. In Latvia, Ralfs was coached by Juris Iesalnieks.
Joining him for the 2026–27 season is Roberts Macs, a first-year player and newcomer to the South Georgia Tech program. Roberts is from Plavinas, Latvia, and comes from Riga Juniors, where he was coached by Gundars Vētra.
The South Georgia Tech men’s team is currently completing its preseason preparation. The team will participate in two preseason jamborees. One jamboree will take place in Georgia, including the Atlanta area, while the second tournament will be held in Orlando, Florida, in October.
The preseason will include jamborees, exhibition games, and other preparation games before the start of official competition.
The 2026–27 regular season officially begins on October 30.
For both Latvian players, the new season provides an opportunity to compete at the junior-college level in the United States and continue their basketball development as members of the South Georgia Tech College men’s program.
