.The FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship continues as teams battle for the highest positions in the tournament.
Latvia suffered a defeat against Croatia and was eliminated from medal contention. Lithuania, meanwhile, secured an important victory over Germany and remains in the race for the championship.
Ukraine also continued its winning run by defeating Romania. Once again, the standout performer was Elina Syniakova, who plays for Butler Community College (Kansas). She delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with 20 points and 12 rebounds, making her the game’s leading scorer and one of its most valuable players.
At this stage of the tournament, Elina has clearly established herself as the leader of the Ukrainian U20 national team. Although the roster features several talented young players with promising futures, Ukraine still lacks the overall depth and international experience of teams such as Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Spain, and Poland.
Nevertheless, this new generation of Ukrainian players gives basketball fans plenty of reasons for optimism. Led by Elina Sinyukova, the team continues to demonstrate determination, competitiveness, and significant potential for future development.
Elina is steadily moving toward earning a place on Ukraine’s senior national team. The level of competition there is undoubtedly much higher, with more experienced teammates and opponents who have already competed at the highest international level. However, Sinyukova still has a long basketball career ahead of her. If she continues to work hard and develop her game, there is every reason to believe that a very bright future awaits her, along with a successful upcoming NCAA season.
